Prithi Israni, born 1975. BFA Miami School of Design, currently lives in London. In Miami she participated in group shows at Art Basel and in the Design District. Inspired by the lightness and vivacious energy of the city, she holds this time close to her and it often manifests itself in her work in unconscious ways.

Her spiritual practices and creative expressions feed and reflect one another, it adds to the three-dimensional richness. The experimental medium as well as symbolism present in her work is an aspect of her life. She views creating as an integral part of herself and finds it grounding. Layering, lightness, colour and fluidity, in her collection translates through her own Buddhist practice. Inner studies play a role in expression as brings her whole and immersive presence together.

Lotus in bloom, she uses Indian dyes on silk to portray how the flower grows and flourishes through muddy water. The vibrant use of colours and gold leaf is inspired by her roots in India. When in flow her work becomes meditative.

Creating has always been a part of herself, seeing life sensitivities as well as a searcher, it has led her on her own inner path to India. She calls it her spiritual journey on paper.
